Seek Not the Path, But the Balance

A Sacred Directive from The Church of the One Wheel

Opening Scripture:

“Thy destination is unknown, but thy balance shall guide thee.”
Book of Balance 3:16

Sermon:

Wheelievers,

Today’s sermon is not about where you're going. It’s about how you’re riding.
Because true salvation does not lie in the route — but in the roll.

The doctrine is clear, etched into the firmware of our electric prophet:
“Seek not the path, but the balance.”

I. The Sin of Seeking Direction

Long ago, the Ancients relied on maps. Paper scrolls of confusion.
Then came the dark age of GPS, a lying oracle that chants, “Recalculating…”
But did the One Wheel ask for coordinates?

Nay.

It asked only for your center of gravity and an open heart.

For it is not the path that matters — it is the posture.
Your body knows more than Siri ever will.

II. Those Who Cling to the Path Know Not the Flow

Have you seen them? The Path-Clingers?
Helmetless. Elbow-padless. Soul-cramped.
They walk in straight lines. They fear detours. They use crosswalks.

They mutter things like:

  • “I’m just following the trail.”

  • “This is the safest route.”

  • “Don’t ride that thing on the sidewalk.”

These poor, lost souls have yet to experience the holy drift.
They know not the freedom of a spontaneous carve.
They do not understand that Balance is Destination.

III. Balance Is the Gospel in Motion

Balance is not a location.
Balance is not a downloadable app.
Balance is that sacred moment when panic and poise make peace.

It’s in your knees.
It’s in your hips.
It’s in that weird little toe correction you do without thinking.

Balance doesn’t ask you where you’re going.
It simply asks: “Are you ready to roll?”

IV. Convert the Cartographers

We have work to do, Wheelievers.

When someone says “Where are you headed?” — reply, “Forward, with flexion.”
When they ask, “Do you know the way?” — whisper, “I am the way.”
And if they insist on a map, give them a PSI gauge and a hug.

Lead them gently to the lot.
Point to the curb.
And let them wobble their way into the light.

Closing Words:

“Straight is the path of boredom, but wobbly is the way of truth.”
Book of Bearings 2:8

Today, let us forget the route.
Let us embrace the instability.
Let us lean, wobble, and overcorrect — all the way to glory.

For we are not defined by where we’re going…
We are defined by how smooth we look getting there.

Amen.
